"Beck est le premier manga rock à lire et à écouter à fond."
Yukio Tanaka est un jeune adolescent de 14 ans qui n'à aucun réel but dans sa vie. Il n'aime qu'une chose, c'est Chiemi Kuniyoshi, une petite pop idole. Une soirée va tout changer pour lui cependant, quand une des plus jolies filles du collège, Izumi, invite Koyuki (surnom qu'elle lui a donné) à une partie de bowling. La bagarre qui éclate après cette soirée permettra à Koyuki de rencontrer Ryuusuke un ado rebelle et excellent guitariste. La révélation lui viendra en écoutant un cd de DyBree un célèbre groupe de rock.
Koyuki découvre alors le rock et une nouvelle passion.
